Brave little chickadee

This brave little chickadee paid a visit to the bird feeder yesterday. If you double click on the picture, you should be able to see him. He has a yellow breast.

I would be willing to bet that your "chickadee" is a type of warbler--probably a blue-winged warbler or a yellow-throated vireo--I'm afraid it's not a chickadee. I couldn't see the head, beak and tail well enough even on enlargement to tell for sure. Both of their ranges include East Texas.

Rosan - I think you are correct about it being a blue-winged warbler. I blew up the picture and it looks like the red, and the black and white colors appearing above the bird are actually on the flagpole behind it, not the bird's head. 'Course with those white coverts, yellow breast, B+W face and a red crest, it could be a chickadee whose grandparents flew too close to a nuclear power plant!
